Apple to hold "Special Event" On September 1st @ 1PM EST

Well Apple has finally announced the date for their annual Music themed event. The "special event" will be held on the 1st at 1:00 EST. We will definitely see a new iPod Touch among other things. Yesterday a banner appeared on Apple's homepage announcing the free iPod Touch with a Mac deal will be ending September 7th. This leaves many people to believe that Apple will be announcing the 4th Generation iPod Touch shortly. The highly awaited iPod Touch 4th Generation with a front facing, and back facing camera is rumored to be announced on September 7th. According to BloomBerg a person who is very close to this matter, leaked the 7th date to them. The source also confirmed that the new iPod Touch 4th Generation will feature two cameras, and have the ability to FaceTime. Check out new iPod Touch 4th Generation photo here. Google Integrates Google Voice with Gmail

Its been rumored for a while, but finally today Google announced that one will be able to make phone calls from within Gmail. This is a big move for Google, and it will undoubtedly improve the services popularity. The service will be completely free for calls to US and Canadian landlines. Read more.
Apple Releases New iPad Ad "Delicious"

Apple today posted a new iPad ad called delicious. This ad features many apps showing off what they can do and then calls the iPad a name, for example at first the iPad is called delicious. Check out the video after the break.

Alibaba now has cases on sale that are designed for the 4th generation iPod Touch with camera holes. Many Manufacturers guess the form factor of Apple's next device and have been wrong in the past. This case has a hole for a camera, that looks very similar to the iPhone 4 camera position. Read more.
First Mac OS X 10.6.5 (10H525) Build Seeded To Developers

Apple has seeded developers with the fifth maintenance build of OS X 10.6. The build contains known bugs in UI elements in web views (iTunes Store) and failed connection to Exchange servers (HTTP error 400). Apple has asked developers to focus their testing in iCal, Mail, QuickTime, X11, 3D Graphics, and printing. The build also includes the graphics update that was seeded to developers earlier this month. Read more.
Midlevel Operations Manager Arrested for Wired Fraud and Money Laundering

Paul Shin Devine, a midlevel operations manager at Apple was arrested Friday for wired fraud and money laundering. Devine had reportedly passed on confidential Apple information to Asian accessory makers for the iPhone and iPod, in return for large sums of cash totaling $1 million. The confidential information was used to help the accessory makers cut a better deal with Apple. Read more.
LMT pays off debt thanks to Apple

As some of you may know, Apple has recently struck a deal with Liquidmetal Technologies(LMT) for their newest alloy, which is twice as strong as titanium, easy to mold, and quickly cools. The material in question is so strong "that a one inch wide bar can lift 300,000 pounds, while to a titanium bar the same size that can only lift 175,000 pounds." CDMA/Verizon iPhone 4 (N92) At "EVT" Stage, January Release Likely

There has always been a constant flow of Verizon iPhone rumors, and many say Apple considered ditching AT&T for Verizon at least a dozen times. We've been hearing a lot about the Verizon/CDMA iPhone lately and we figure that this January is probably when US AT&T exclusivity ends. John Gruber has told us that the CDMA iPhone 4 variant is codenamed "N92" and is currently in EVT stage (Engineering Verification Testing), only two stages away from production. In other words, the CDMA iPhone 4 has been taken off the shelf and isn't a "just in case" type of project any more. Read more.
